Our family has been a part of STEPS since January 2024, and we cannot say enough wonderful things about this program and the incredible team behind it. Months before joining, we visited the doctor with concerns about our son’s ability to communicate. After an evaluation, he was given an IFSP for speech therapy, and since then, we’ve had the privilege of working with multiple providers who have come into our home weekly. Each one has been outstanding in their support, expertise, and care. Laura, our speech therapist, has been pivotal in our son’s journey—not only in his communication development but also in the way she holds space for parents during what can be an emotional and overwhelming process. She brings such a multidisciplinary approach and a unique intuition that allows her to truly see and understand both the children she works with and their families, who also need so much support. We also had the pleasure of working with Jesse, whose kind and supportive demeanor was incredibly helpful during a particularly rough transition in our family dynamic. Additionally, the infant mental health therapist, Sharon, provided invaluable weekly insight, helping us better understand our active toddler and giving us a diagnosis that allowed us to support him in a more meaningful way. And finally, Tanya, the director, has been absolutely amazing throughout the entire process. From paperwork to meetings, she has guided us with patience and care, making what can be a vulnerable journey feel seamless and well-supported. Our family is beyond grateful for everyone at STEPS—for the unwavering support they have provided us, the help they have given our son, and the way they have bridged the gap to ensure he is fully prepared for kindergarten. This program has truly made a difference in our lives, and we highly recommend it to any family in need of early learning and developmental support.
